Manorfield Primary School
Manorfield Primary School is a co-educational school for 3-11 year-olds in Tower Hamlets Local Education Authority.
The school is located in Poplar, Tower Hamlets (listed as the most deprived local authority in the country in terms of IDACI – Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index) and serving both the 1st and 3rd highest constituencies for percentages of child poverty in the UK. There are 688 pupils on roll including the 3-4 year old Nursery. The school admits 90 pupils in Reception each year and has plans to expand to offer 2-year old Nursery provision.
Manorfield is much larger than the average-sized primary school. The school has its own 3-4 year old Nursery. The proportion of pupils eligible for the pupil premium, is much higher than that found nationally, as is the proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language. The school serves a diverse population, with the largest ethnic group being of Bangladeshi heritage. More pupils than average leave or join the school at other than the usual times throughout the year.
Manorfield is an associate partner in the LETTA Teaching School Alliance www.letta.org.uk
