Delves Infant School
Delves Infant and Nursery School, is a three form entry school, that is also part of the Forge Brook Trust.

Candidates will gain a realistic insight into life in a successful infant and nursery setting, working with children aged 2 to 7 years. The experience is designed to provide an understanding of teaching, learning and child development in the early years and Key Stage 1.
During your placement, you can expect to:
-Observe lessons across Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes.
-Experience a range of teaching styles and classroom approaches.
-Interact with pupils and support learning activities under the guidance of experienced staff.
-Observe how phonics, early reading, writing and mathematics are taught.
-See how play-based learning supports children's development in the Early Years.
-Learn about the school's approaches to behaviour, inclusion and supporting pupils with additional needs.
-Attend assemblies, enrichment activities and other aspects of school life where appropriate.
-Speak with teachers and leaders about careers in education and the pathways into teaching.A typical day will begin with welcoming pupils into school and preparing for learning. Candidates will spend time in classrooms observing teaching and supporting age-appropriate activities, followed by opportunities to discuss practice with staff. Throughout the day, visitors will see how the school promotes high expectations, positive relationships and a nurturing learning environment.
