Palfrey Infant School

Palfrey Infant School is a large three-form entry infant school, providing part time nursery education for pupils who join us following their third birthday. The school serves a close knit community of predominantly Asian backgrounds with around 12% of pupils coming from other backgrounds, including Eastern European, many of who are new to country with little or no English. At Palfrey Infants School you will find a happy and friendly atmosphere, commented on by all who visit. Pupils' excellent behaviour and manners allow learning to be developed and enjoyed by all. Our dedicated staff, together with parents, carers and governors are committed to creating and sustaining a healthy, caring and happy school community that values every member as an individual and provides children with first-class learning experience in order for them to reach their potential. Our school motto ‘Happy Children, Aiming High’ is fundamental in ensuring ALL pupils get the best possible start to their learning journey. Our Governing Body ensure our pupils develop an acceptance and engagement with the fundamental British values and we strive to ensure our pupils develop and demonstrate skills and attitudes that will allow them to participate and contribute positively to life in modern Britain.

This will include observing teaching, participating in lessons by interacting with small groups or individual pupils and having the opportunity to talk to year group colleagues about teaching today.
