Headlands School
Headlands is a large comprehensive school, in the East Yorkshire coastal town of Bridlington. We have around 1200 students, a vibrant Sixth Form, record exam results and a thriving community.
Our current GCSE results scored 73% for the governments “basics” measure of 9-4 English and Maths. This result is a 2% increase on our 2018 result and testament to our “Team Headlands” approach, providing our students with the very best teaching and learning experience, day in day out.
At Headlands School we are interested in the development of the whole person, as well as the examination candidate. We actively encourage our students to open their minds, to aim high in all they do, and to make the most of the opportunities available to them.

GORSE SCITT is the Outstanding teacher training arm of The GORSE Academies Trust. Our SEP offer is an opportunity for you to “try before you apply”.
An SEP day at one of The GORSE Academies Trust Partner schools will allow you to observe excellent teaching and learning across the full range of Key Stages. You will have the opportunity to not only observe lessons but also see a range of teaching styles, as well as talking to key professionals about routes into teaching. You may also be able to speak to many of our trainees and alumni about their route into teaching and how they found their teacher training year and the subsequent NQT year. At the beginning or end of your day you will also be met by the Professional Mentor in the school to reflect on your day and see if we can support your journey into teaching any further.
We can also arrange for you to speak to the Director of the programme for Hull & East Yorkshire who can tell you more about our SCITT programme and the QTS and PGCE offer, along with further advice about funding and applications.
