School profile

Wellfield Academy

Wellfield Academy is a growing and thriving school. At our school your child will experience inspirational and challenging teaching and learning, outstanding pastoral care and a genuine belief that every child can succeed. Our overriding priority is to get to know each of our children for their own special uniqueness. Building and maintaining strong relationships with our parents is essential to this and we also take our role at the heart of the Leyland community seriously. We are proud of our significant improvement over recent years and we will continue to provide the very best for each and every one of our students.

Wellfield Academy is a school with a nurturing environment which is dedicated to developing happy, respectful and independent children. We are extremely passionate about ensuring the successful development of each individual child. Our children behave really well and they thrive in our warm, welcoming yet ambitious environment.

One of our many strengths is our community spirit and family feel; our children are supported by key staff, as well as being challenged to be the best they can be. Getting the right balance between academic and pastoral support is vital to us. At Wellfield, we believe that every child should be treated as we would want our own children to be. As a result, our children feel safe and valued in an environment where we find the right balance between encouragement and support and stretch and challenge.

Teacher training

Endeavour Learning Trust is a small but steadily growing Trust in the North West, currently spanning South Ribble, West Lancashire and North Sefton. In our family of schools at this point in our growth, we have three secondary schools and two primary schools, a Teaching School Alliance and a SCITT.

In the past two years we have taken over the leadership of two of our secondary schools, both in challenging circumstances, and the impact has been rapid and significant. We are keen to welcome other schools into our Trust and to ensure we have the capacity to continue to intervene where we are needed most.

Our Trust has been further strengthened by the addition of a large primary school, which enables us to embrace the all through nature of education. It provides us with rich opportunities to learn from and with each other.

Our family ethos is tangible; we work as a team; we want the best for everyone. But we are also staunch in our commitment to doing this in a way which protects the wellbeing of our staff and our students; our commitment to reducing workload is non-negotiable. Our behaviour policies enable teachers to teach and students to learn and we strive to ensure that our schools are communities of joy, learning and teamwork. We seek to thrive; individually, together, in our classrooms, staffrooms, schools and across the Trust.
