Upper Wharfedale School

We are a popular, over-subscribed non-selective school within the selective system of the Craven area. Our students join us from an area of over 200 square miles.

We are proud of our student-centred, inclusive ethos. As a small school we know every student as an individual, encouraging and developing their personal skills, interests and aptitudes.

During your placement you would be involved in:
Observing lessons and different teaching styles
Interacting with pupils
Seeing how specific subjects are taught
Having a dedicated subject mentor
Being part of the school community (including our staff house system)
Access to in-school training (through curriculum and pastoral meetings, as well as targeting training for trainee teachers)
The opportunity to teach lessons and be given feedback from experienced teachers

    • Must be applying to or have applied to our, or a partner school's, teacher training course
DBS check required

Yes. Trainees will usually come from ITT providers with DBS checks already completed.
