Selby High School Specialist School for the Arts and Science

We are an inclusive secondary school for students aged 11 to 16, committed to providing an outstanding education to all.

At Selby High School we ensure that every individual reaches their academic and personal potential, no matter what their starting point. We combine a strong focus on the core areas of literacy, numeracy and science, with a rich and engaging curriculum which offers a broad variety of exciting courses, including the full range of art, technology, sport-related and performing arts based subjects. Learning is carefully structured around the knowledge, skills and understanding required both for success in examinations, and preparation for life in the modern world.

We believe in a fully rounded education and are committed to enabling all our young people to develop into happy, tolerant and confident adults. We have a programme of events which prepare students to be caring and considerate citizens in 21st Century Britain, as well as a rich extra-curricular programme. There are many opportunities to partake in sporting and creative activities, and we look to nurture young people’s talents and interests whatever they may be.
