University of Bolton

The University of Bolton is one of the largest providers of teacher training for secondary, further, and higher education. Working in partnership with the 'Teach Lead Bolton' consortium of schools, and our extensive network of educational partners, the University will support your initial steps towards training to teach by arranging your school experience.

About our school experience

Individual requirements:
  • Must not have been accepted onto another teacher training course
  • Must have a degree
  • They must live within 30 miles of the school
  • Photo identification: Passport or driving license
Candidates will be provided with a personalised experience at one or more of our partner schools. This may include shadowing experienced teachers, observing lessons, observing pastoral teams, participating in extra-curricular activities, shadowing pupils ('pupil pursuit' experience).
