The King's Academy

The King’s Academy opened as an 11-19 school in September 2003. The King’s Academy has an ethos to support every child to achieve their personal best and is also an inclusive environment, with some 100 students having Statements of Special Educational Need. The King’s Academy is part of the Emmanuel Teaching School Alliance working in partnership with Newcastle University who have a proven track record in Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Training.

School Experience visit days are aimed at undergraduates, graduates and career changers who are interested in training to teach. The day will provide an opportunity to gain information about the application process, routes into teaching, and what our Secondary School Direct teacher training programme can offer. There will be an opportunity to observe lessons in the subject area you wish to teach and have informal discussions with experienced teachers.
