Kettering Science Academy inspires both our students and staff to achieve their best and believe in developing the whole person through strong academic and pastoral support. We are a caring, proactive community which has the students at the heart of everything we do.

We are a valued member of the Brooke Weston Trust and its network of schools. Our association with the Trust further allows KSA’s students and staff access to a range of excellent opportunities, and gives us a shared sense of belonging and identity through joint ventures that occur across the partnership.

We recognise how important it is for prospective teachers to gain some first hand insight into how a school runs.
Our days may include:
Talking to Hub staff about the teacher training scheme
Talking to existing trainees about their experiences
Asking teachers about their typical day
Observe teaching
Observe tutor times
Watch a range of subjects being taught.You will also get the chance to gain advice on how to complete a training application and gain valuable insight into some of the skills you can showcase in your personal statement.
No DBS is required because you will also be with a member of staff but you will be able to interact with students and watch how they engage in their learning.

Entry requirements
You must:
- Must not have been accepted onto another teacher training course
- Must have a degree
- Photo identification: For example a passport or driving licence
- Must be considering apply to our schools to start teacher training in September of the next academic year.
- DBS check required

Placement availability
Please apply for your school experience here. We have a range of flexible dates available though we will avoid scheduling visits during busy school times, exam sessions and school holidays.

Please drive into the car park, turning right just after the mini roundabout on Deeble Road. You can park anywhere in the shared staff and visitor area, avoiding allocated bays and drop off points. Please report to reception at the front of the building using the intercom.
