The Bourne Academy

The Bourne Academy, established in 2009, is a state funded secondary school with 1000 students aged 11 to 18 years. Formerly Kings High school, the Academy received a £10 million investment in 2012 which transformed the site into a state of the art 21st century secondary school.

The Academy is committed to creating aspirational students who are well-prepared for their futures and who strive to achieve their full potential.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to learn all you need to know about teaching within a secondary school. Getting some classroom experience can help you to decide whether teaching is right for you and it could also strengthen your application.

Our event is designed for anyone who has a degree and is interested in initial teacher training with our partnership.

During the visit you’ll be able to talk to teachers about day-to-day school life and observe teaching in a range of lessons.

    • Must not have been accepted onto another teacher training course
    • Must have a degree
    • They must live within 40 miles of the school
    • Photo identification: eg, passport or driving licence
