Gaining classroom experience and interacting with teaching staff will enable you to gauge if a teaching career is right for you, enhance your understanding of the daily routine of school life, whilst also providing you with the insight into which teacher training route is right for you.
The Kent Oaks Consortium offers applicants who are interested in gaining secondary school experience through the School Experience Programme (SEP) at Knole Academy. Primary school SEP's can also be arranged via The Kent Oaks Consortium.

Entry requirements
You must:
- Photo identification: You must provide 3 forms of ID. Passport or Birth Certificate, Driving Licence, Utility Bill or Bank Statement confirming your address within the last 12 months.
- 1) Have interest in teaching secondary Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English, Design and Technology, Art and Design, History, Geography, MFL - French and Psychology. 2) You will need to hold a UK (or equivalent) undergraduate degree with a result of at least a 2:2. 3) If you are a current undergraduate, you will need to be in your final year of study with a predicted result of a 2:2 or above and be interested in one of the aforementioned subjects. 4) Supply an electronic copy of your CV. 5) Participants interested in teaching in a primary school may also apply for SEP days at one of our partner schools. These are arranged on an individual basis by contacting the Kent Oaks Consortium directly.
- DBS check required

Yes. If you choose to do more than a day experience a DBS check will be required. The cost of this is £54 unless you are on the DBS Update Service. This will be organised by us and could impact on the length of your placement.
Placement availability
Kent Oaks Consortium is offering Secondary School Experience Placements to those people that meet the criteria. There are no set days but if your accepted for SEP a mutually agreed date between yourself and the subject teacher will be arranged with you via your personal email.
If you require Primary Experience at one of our Consortium Schools then this will also be arranged by us at a mutually agreed date between yourself and the Primary School via personal email.

£35.00 Daily, Bank Transfer to our Finance Director.
There is a fee of £35 per day for all subjects.
- DBS check fees

£54.00 One-off, Bank transfer to our Finance Director.
If you wish to book for more than 1 day we will require you to have a DBS check at a fee of £54 unless you are on the DBS update service. After booking please email KentOaksConsortium@KnoleAcademy.org with your full address for an invoice to be generated.
