Sandy Hill Academy is part of the Aspire Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust of 31 primary schools in Cornwall who have joined together in a unique and exciting partnership that will ensure better provision, richer resources and higher standards for our pupils.

About our school experience

Candidates will be able to gain a broad experience of a primary school setting. Time will be spent in class observing the teacher across a range of lessons and activities, with the opportunity to work with small groups of children.
Candidates will be able to talk with staff and ask questions to determine if teaching is the right career for them.
Candidates will be able to find out more about initial teacher training opportunities with Aspire Academy Trust.

Yes. This will need to be completed before a placement is confirmed. We will guide you through the application process. For placements of at least 10 days, the cost will be covered by the school, for placements less than 10 days, the cost will be covered by the candidate.

We can offer school experience throughout the year, but may have some busier times when placements aren't available.
