The Greetland Academy
The Greetland Academy is a two-form-entry primary school for children aged 4 to 11, based across two sites in Greetland, Calderdale. We are part of Great Heights Academy Trust and the founding school of AA Teamworks SCITT, which trains primary and secondary teachers.
We want children to reach great heights through ambitious teaching, rich experiences and a strong sense of belonging. Our values of being ambitious, brave, curious, healthy, respectful and united shape school life. Our most recent Ofsted inspection, in June 2026, judged the academy Strong in all areas, something we are very proud of.

A typical visit runs from 9:30-12:00.
During your visit, you will observe teaching and learning in one or more year groups across our two sites , see how teachers build relationships and adapt learning for different pupils, and find out what a typical school day involves. You will have opportunities to ask questions of qualified teachers and, where available, current trainees and SCITT alumni who are now employed at our school .
Greetland is particularly well placed to show you how children learn to read. The academy is a DfE English Hub, a Little Wandle Champion School and a founder of work on reading fluency in Key Stage 2. You may also see how our staff support pupils with additional needs and create an inclusive classroom community.
We will discuss your interests before the visit so that, where possible, your time in school helps you explore the age groups and aspects of teaching that matter most to you.

AA Teamworks SCITT is part of Great Heights Academy Trust and trains both primary and secondary teachers. A visit to Greetland is an opportunity to explore whether teaching is right for you and to ask about training with the SCITT. You do not need to have decided to train with us before visiting.
