The Roseland Academy

The Roseland Academy is an exceptional school where we nurture, challenge and inspire every child to reach their potential. We have high aspirations and our staff, parents and students aim high with us. We unashamedly promote traditional values of respect, good manners and hard work but harness these within an education preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the future. Whilst maintaining our position as one of the top performing secondary schools in the South West and nationally, we also remain firmly rooted in our core values as a small, inclusive, community centred school.

The Roseland Academy is part of a Trust comprising three secondary schools and two primary schools. We never stay still and continue developing quality first teaching for all students by maintaining true Trust collaboration across all our schools, creative and critical thinking, and deep engagement with our communities. We follow our own school cultures which enable us all to emulate daily our Trust mission, vision, values, and standards.
Our Trust vision is 'to inspire a love of learning within environments that are happy, respectful and challenging, where everyone feels valued and able to reach their full potential.'

About our school experience

Details

The single day school experience events will enable candidates to make well informed decisions about pursuing the teacher training application process.
A typical day will include:
- introduction to The Roseland Trust and the Trust vision, mission and values;
- overview of the start and end of school routines;
- guided learning walks within the relevant subject areas and beyond;
- information about The Roseland Academy's role as lead school for Cornwall SCITT and the Trust's provision for Teacher Training;
- guided reflection on highlights and opportunity to ask questions;
- summary discussion about professional skills, career opportunities, current skills & knowledge and advice associated with the application process;
- an opportunity to explore further visits, links or assistance with the Teacher Training process.

In addition, where specific school pre-calendared activities may be taking place, consideration would be given to these where relevant, to maximise the school experience event for a candidate.
If a candidate is particularly interested in finding something specific or seeing a range of subjects so as to understand more how their degree might fit with the secondary school curriculums, please, put it into the request form and the school would respond according to their capacity.
