At Claremont High School, we work together to nurture talents, build confidence, enabling them to succeed and thrive. As a team we deliver success through our core values of Excellence, Respect, Admiration, Enjoyment and Perseverance.
The academy is renowned for its excellent teaching and for academic achievement. Each year exam results at GCSE and A Level are first-rate, with students progressing to leading universities including Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions, and popular colleges: the large majority securing their first-choice destination.
Our forward thinking and future focused curriculum is broad, balanced and enriched, created to meet the needs and aspirations of our students. We have a dedicated and passionate team of well qualified and highly skilled staff who provide outstanding teaching. We set the highest expectations in learning and behaviour and our goal is nothing short of excellence across all three of the key stages.
We also pride ourselves on our specialist pastoral care putting each student’s wellbeing at the heart of all we do, providing a very positive environment where the talents of all are recognised and encouraged. As each new student joins us, we take the time to build a genuine partnership between family and school .

At Claremont High School, we are excited to offer a comprehensive and engaging in-school experience for those interested in pursuing a career in teaching. Our programme is designed to provide aspiring teachers with valuable insights into the day-to-day operations of a school environment.
What We Offer:
Department Observations: The opportunity to observe various lessons across different subjects and year groups. This will give them an understanding of teaching methods, classroom management strategies, and how curriculum delivery is tailored to the needs of diverse students.
Discussion with Key Members of the Teaching and Learning Team: Participants will engage in discussions with experienced members of our teaching and learning team. These conversations will provide valuable perspectives on effective teaching practices, assessment strategies, and how to create an inclusive classroom environment.
Briefing on Routes into Teaching: As part of the experience, trainees will be briefed on the different pathways into teaching through Claremont High School. This includes information on available training programmes, qualifications, and support systems in place for those beginning their teaching careers. We are proud to offer guidance on how to navigate the journey from trainee to qualified teacher within our school community.
