Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School
SHFGS is a co-educational selective school in North Buckinghamshire. The environment is one in which high standards in every aspect of school life are the norm. Whilst academic success is extremely important, the school also works very hard to ensure that young people develop into successful adults – in the broadest sense. The environment provides a platform for supportive, caring and encouraging relationships that enable young people to thrive and flourish.
SHFGS was the foundational school for Insignis Academy Trust, when the Trust was established in July 2016
SHFGS hosts ITT trainees from both the Insignis SCITT and from a number of other local and national providers.

During a school visit to Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School you will:

•Gain valuable experience observing teachers in the classroom
•Engage with students during their lessons
•Have the opportunity to talk to current trainees and teachers at the start of their career to learn about their experiences and journey to qualified teacher status
•Connect with subject teachers, and find out about the curriculum in your specialist subject
•Have an opportunity to ask questions about routes into teaching and training in an Insignis Academy Trust School - Start and finish times

With prior arrangement, the school is able to arrange visits that meet the needs of individuals interested in training with Insignis SCITT or as a Post Graduate Teaching Apprentice.

Insignis Academy Trust SCITT is working in partnership with Teach First to provide School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) leading to Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE. The one-year, school based, research-led training will give you plenty of hands-on experience and allows you to train to teach in an Insignis Academy Trust (IAT) school.
Insignis Academy Trust also work in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching in Education based at Coventry University, to offer a 15 month Teaching Apprenticeship leading to QTS and a PGCE.
