Barr Beacon School
At Barr Beacon School we have high expectations of our pupils from their conduct and behaviour in school and out in the community to the way that they wear their uniform with pride. Alongside this we expect them to work hard to achieve success while enacting the Beacon Values. We work hard to get the best for every single one of our pupils. Barr Beacon School joined the Matrix Academy Trust in 2014.

Candidates will be offered an initial 1:1 virtual appointment. This will take place via Teams and there is no cost associated with this.
Candidates who wish to visit the school in person, can arrange to do so following the virtual meeting . Candidates who visit the school will be able to observe lessons across the school and talk with a teachers about training to be a teacher at Barr Beacon School and with Barr Beacon SCITT.
School Experience placement days will be organised for a Thursday. This is due to staff availability within the SCITT central team.

For the initial Teams meeting: Please provide a range of times that you are available for and we will try our best to book in a 30 minute Teams appointment during these times.
For school visits: As a visitor to our school it is expected that you follow the school day. This will begin with an arrival at 9:00. You will then follow a timetable for the day. Your day will finish at around 3:30 once you have spoken with a member of the SCITT team about training to be a teacher.

You must:
- Must be applying to or have applied to our, or a partner school's, teacher training course
- Must not have been accepted onto another teacher training course
- Must have a degree
- Photo identification: For example, passport or driving licence.
- DBS check required

Please let us know a range of dates that you are available and we will be able to book in an initial 1:1 virtual meeting to talk through our school and our programme. The online experience can be supplemented by an on-site visit to our school.

Parking is available for the on-site visits in the visitor's car park of Barr Beacon School. This is on the corner of Beacon Road and Old Hall Lane. Once in the car park, please park in a designated bay as our school busses use this car park. There is an overflow car park underneath the visitor's car park.
