As of September 2026, at Lode Heath, work experience placements will take place on Tuesdays only. Candidates will be allocated a specific date to attend and will follow a planned departmental timetable, which may include observing lessons, spending time with department staff, and learning more about teaching and school life.
At the booking stage, it would be helpful if you could indicate a few dates that you are available on Tuesdays so that we can allocate you to the most suitable placement date.
If you are unable to attend on Lode Heath’s designated day, you are welcome to apply to one of the other schools within the Trust on their allocated work experience days:
Arden – Monday and Wednesday
Henley – Thursday
Park Hall – FridayMembers of the Initial Teacher Training Team or Senior Leadership Team may also meet with you during the day to discuss routes into teaching, applications, and teacher training opportunities.
Work experience placements require significant planning and coordination across the school. We therefore expect full attendance on the agreed date. Please note that cancellations or non-attendance cause considerable disruption, and we are unable to offer alternative dates in these circumstances.

Placement availability
If you let us know your availability we will try to be as flexible as possible. Please provide full details of your availability and we will try to match our diaries. All work experience will be for one day initially.
Please be aware that organising work experience placements in a busy school requires significant time and coordination from multiple members of staff. For this reason, applicants must be very clear about their availability before confirming a booking, and we expect a full commitment to the agreed date. Cancellations and non-attendance cause considerable disruption to the school, and we are unable to rearrange placements in such circumstances. If there is any uncertainty about your availability, this must be resolved prior to confirming your placement.
