Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form
Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form is a very successful and heavily over-subscribed comprehensive school situated in Braintree, Essex with more than 1,500 students. The school gained Academy status in August 2011, and in September 2013 the North Essex Multi-Academy Trust (NEMAT) was established.
It is also the Lead School for Mid Essex ITT, an oustanding* teacher training scheme which trains more than 50 secondary teachers each year in partnership with 13 other local schools.

Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form is a very successful and heavily over-subscribed comprehensive school situated in Braintree, Essex, with Academy status. It has been graded ‘good’ by Ofsted (March, 2016). It is also the Lead School for Mid Essex Initial Teacher Training which was awarded an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted in 2017.
Our free Taster Day will allow you to observe some lessons (subjects may vary), have a tour of the school, speak to students, staff and current trainee teachers, watch part of a teacher training session and find out how to apply for a teacher training course.
You do not need to have a DBS check, but need to bring photographic ID and you will be escorted at all times around the school. Mid Essex ITT is fully committed to the safeguarding of students and the safer recruitment of our trainee teachers.
