The Raleigh School
We're delighted that you're considering becoming a teacher and visiting our school - many of our previous 'Get School Experience' visitors have gone on to train to teach with us and we'd be delighted to meet you.
The Raleigh School, consisting of 436 pupils aged from 4 to 11 years, is situated in the semi-rural village of West Horsley, near Guildford. We are an ‘Outstanding’ school and have been heavily involved in teacher training over the past decade. Our highly-experienced staff perform a variety of roles within South Farnham SCITT, including as Mentors, Support Tutors and trainers. Ofsted ranked our school as ‘Outstanding’ in 2017 and 2024.
We work very closely with South Farnham SCITT, where trainees can choose to apply for the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) only programme or the PGCE with QTS. This one year programme includes local weekly professional studies training and placements in local schools.
During your time with us you will have the opportunity to:
• observe outstanding teaching and learning
• shadow a teacher in the day-to-day school life
• find out more about school direct teacher training
• find out more about the wider roles and responsibilities of teachers
