Holyhead School

We are an 11-19 Academy at the heart of Soho Ward, a vibrant and aspirational community with a deep sense of its own heritage and culture.Ofsted recognised us as ‘Outstanding’ in 2013 and again in 2017. More importantly, the local community recognise the value of our work and consequently, there is a high demand for school and Sixth Form places. There is always a high level of interest in our work and I am very proud of the amazing reputation that we have both locally and nationally. We are part of the RSA Family of Academies which means a commitment at all levels to Arts, Culture and Creativity ... We are also part of the RSA Academies' Teaching School Alliance and offer a collaborative approach to Teaching and Learning, CPD and Teacher Training, our Headline figures for 18/19 - 100% trainees passed at Grade 1 and 2, we heavily invest in early career development across our alliance and our retention rates remain high.

About our school experience

Details
We can offer an initial 1 days school experience, where applicants will have the opportunity to meet key staff and observe lessons within the applicants subject area. Applicants will also have the opportunity to meet current trainees and NQTs, which will support applicants in finding out more about not only teacher training in general, but our training provision and the opportunities available within our Teaching School. We are part of a family of schools, located across the West Midlands, we offer multi tiered support and a bespoke training programme. As a Teaching School, we can also give applicants information on our courses and provision and share key information to support teacher training applications. If you would like further school experience, this can be discussed on the day. We don't require a DBS, however we do require photo ID and proof of address.
