King Alfred's
King Alfred’s is a Secondary School with a total of 1650 students on roll.
There are 1270 students in years 7-11 and 380 young adults attend the 6th Form.
The Academy is a highly effective and successful school with pupil progress and final results well above national averages.
We are a two site school based in Wantage, Oxfordshire. Hosting Years 7 and 8 on West Site and Years 9 - 13 on Centre Site.
About our school experience

- King Alfred's Academy can offer up to 3 days free of charge School Experience visitors over a range of subjects over selected weeks in the academic year. Longer than 3 days would be charged at £10 plus VAT each day. No DBS check required. Meet and greet with the Deputy Headteacher for advice on getting into teaching and the Oxfordshire school's SCITT programme. Also a Teaching School Administrator for one to one contact for providing information and documentation on the School Experience Day.

£10.00 Daily, If your School Experience visit is over 3 days. Once you have completed your Booking Form to attend King Alfred's Academy, an invoice will be raised. A cheque can be made payable to the Vale Academy payable in advance by bank transfer or Trust.
Please note: School Experience visitors are subject to an Administration fee if your visit to King Alfred’s Academy is of more than 3 days. The fee is £10 + VAT each day.
If you are in receipt of benefits, there is a discounted rate but proof of this must be provided.

Centre Site there is NO parking on the school grounds for visitors nor in the Wantage Leisure Centre car park opposite the school.
Please use The Beacon car park which is situated next to Centre Site. The car park fees for The Beacon are as follows (from 1st April 2022) up to 1 hour free, up to 2 hours £1.50, 3 hours £2.10, 4 hours £4.10, 6 hours £5.10 and over 6 hours £6.10
Parking is available at West Site.
