We offer two types of experience:

Activities will include:
- Observing a variety of classes, meeting current teachers, support staff and pupils.
Cost: Free, candidates to bring packed lunch
2. A two day experience event called 'back to school' events. These days offer a real taste of what it's like to be a teacher.
The 'back to school' events are two-day programmes designed for anyone considering a career in teaching, whether straight from university or as a career change.
Activities will include:
- Observing a variety of classes, meeting current teachers, support staff and pupils.
- Learning more about the wider role of a teacher.
- Receiving top tips from current trainees and early career teachers.
- Finding out more about the training process.
- Gaining support with the application and interview process.Cost: £20 for both days, includes lunch and refreshments.
For both experiences a questionnaire, sent with the welcome email, will be expected to be completed and returned at least 3 working days before your booked experience day.
We expect all participants to be smartly dressed and arrive at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School by 8.20am and sign in at the training and conference centre's reception. All participants should be actively involved in lessons. The day is expected to end at 3.15pm.
A DBS is not required for this first visit or the back to school event, as you will be accompanied at all times, although you will need to have one if you wish to apply for any further days spent in school.
