The Farnley Academy

The Farnley Academy is part of GORSE, a nationally renowned, trust whose drive is to create exceptional schools for the benefit of the communities in which we serve. GORSE’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sir John Townsley, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Leanne Griffiths are passionate about providing the highest standard of educational experience for all children, regardless of background, across the full age range.

As an Outstanding provider (Ofsted, September 2023), The Farnley Academy is tenacious in its determination to deliver a high quality educational experience for each and every student. The performance of our students in their GCSE examinations consistently demonstrates that we have the expertise to allow all to secure the Gift of Choice that a strong set of qualifications provides. We regularly speak to our students about the importance of the Gift of Choice; this is where an individual secures the ability to be able to actively choose their next steps rather than have avenues closed off to them as a consequence of a poor qualifications base or skillset.
