Denefield School
Located in the western fringes of Reading and overlooking the beautiful Thames Valley, our school aims to ensure that all young people develop the knowledge and values to thrive in modern life. We call this ‘success for life’ - where students use their hard work and character values to achieve academic success and develop economic independence, as well as forging positive relationships, supporting their local environment and community, and looking after their own physical and mental health.We focus specifically on nine CHARACTER values. Three of these focus on personal attributes – Confidence, Happiness and Articulacy. Three focus on perseverance – Resilience, Ambition and Courage. And the final three focus on contributing to others – Tolerance, Empathy and Respect.
We have high expectations of student conduct and self-discipline, and students are taught and supported by highly qualified and dedicated staff. Denefield’s facilities are second to none, with over £9m spent on science laboratories, art and design workshops, food technology rooms and music teaching and performance spaces. Plus our floodlit 3G pitch, bringing state of the art sports facilities to the school and local community.

About our school experience

- A session with an experienced member of staff giving an insight into the teacher training process, observing lessons and different teaching styles, meeting members of the department that you are interested in, and an opportunity to interact or support students during the day in lessons.
