Cheadle Hulme High School
The Laurus Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust with Cheadle Hulme High School, the founder school, at its centre.
Cheadle Hulme High School is a hugely oversubscribed academy converter with a reputation locally, and further afield, for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and a determination to ensure that every child succeeds.
The Laurus Trust Vision is for everyone regardless of background or circumstance to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and work hard to achieve them.
We also offer school centred initial teacher training through the Altius Teacher Training SCITT which was judged Outstanding by Ofsted in 2017. The SCITT is led by Cheadle Hulme High School where all secondary course participants get the opportunity to train at Cheadle Hulme High School working alongside the expert practitioners that have been instrumental in building its success and are committed to Initial Teacher Training. The primary course participants get the opportunity to train within our primary partner schools located in South Manchester and Cheshire.
Since Altius Teacher Training opened its School Centred Teacher Training in 2015, 100% of those who trained with us have secured employment in education and as part of an expanding Multi Academy Trust, there are many opportunities for Early Career Teachers across the primary and secondary sectors.

Our School Experience Programme (SEP) will give you the opportunity to observe a variety of lessons in your chosen subject across a range of age groups. You will get the chance to speak to teachers and meet members of the SCITT to talk about our teacher training programme. Secondary School Experience days are held at one of the Laurus Trust Secondary Schools.
Please note that school experience days are for prospective applicants. Due to time and staff commitments, we cannot offer school experience to anyone currently holding an offer from another ITT provider.
