The Deepings School
The Deepings School is a large, fully comprehensive school in the very south of Lincolnshire. We serve The Deepings (Deepings St James, Market Deeping etc) and also many local villages. The Deepings SCITT has its offices in the school and we provide teacher training in both primary and secondary phases. Consequently, there are expert staff on hand to discuss ways into teaching with you on your visit.
The dates available vary, dependent on your chosen subject or phase, and we also operate a two-week timetable so we do need our SES candidates to be flexible. We will agree dates with you when you apply.

Hello and welcome to this first step towards a career in teaching.
At The Deepings School/ SCITT, we are looking for committed, enthusiastic candidates who are actively exploring a career in schools and planning to apply for teacher training for the next September entry. Your experience day will see you meeting with a specialist in ITT and then following an observation timetable in your chosen phase / subject. Booking your day's experience through this route carries no cost and offers you one initial day with the possibility of subsequent days being booked afterwards. We do not require a DBS at this stage as you won't be left alone with children. When your application is confirmed, you will receive an email advising you of the detail for the day but do ask if you have any questions. We look forward to meeting you!

Entry requirements
You must:
- Must be applying to or have applied to our, or a partner school's, teacher training course
- Must not have been accepted onto another teacher training course
- Must have a degree
- They must live within 30 miles of the school
- Photo identification: Current passport or driving licence
- DBS check required

Placement availability
Primary - Mon - Thu (no Fridays)
Secondary - Tue - Fri (no Mondays)
Please be aware that at secondary, not all subjects are available every day but arrangements will be made with you to find a mutually convenient time for your school experience. Secondary experience will usually take place at The Deepings School and Primary at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy.
