School profile

The Priory School

The Priory School has a reputation for academic excellence and it is our aim to ensure that every child is encouraged to pursue their own personal excellence, and provide an education that will encourage students to become lifelong learners. It is also our belief that this can only be achieved if parents, staff and governors work together to ensure the best possible support and provision for each child. We have under 900 pupils and our GCSE scores are well above the national average.

Not only do we pursue the important dimension of achieving the best results for each individual, regardless of their starting point; but we also believe strongly that education is about developing well-rounded individuals, who are ready, willing and able to make their contribution to society.

About our school experience

Details

As a Teaching School Hub we have a large number of students requesting observations and several School Direct students currently undertaking their teaching practice.

Due to this, a decision has been made to limit school observations to those candidates who are in the process of applying to the School Direct Programme here at Priory School. We are currently offering the School Experience over 2 lessons.

This means that we can offer more support to our own applicants going forward. Should you wish to find out more about the Schools Direct programme please visit the Get into Teaching website https://getintoteaching.education.gov.uk
