We are a community college based in South Leicestershire dedicated to providing an enriching, high quality comprehensive community education service for all learners and the wider community.

Thomas Estley is part of Achieve with TELA, an alliance of schools that are an accredited provider of teacher training in primary and secondary. The aim of school experience visit is to support and enhance any application for teaching training.
Initially we invite visitors who are interested in secondary teacher training to spend a day at Thomas Estley Community College which is an 11-16 secondary school.
No DBS is required for a day in school.
The day will provide you with an invaluable insight into what teaching is like through observation of lessons, meeting experienced teachers, finding out more about safeguarding, pupil progress, pastoral support and the Achieve with TELA school-based teacher training programme along with the application process.
The school experience day is charged at £20.00 per day. If you are successful in gaining a place on our School Direct programme costs can be refunded. www.telaonline.co.uk

£20.00 Daily, There is a charge of £20.00 for each day, This is payable on the first day of the placement by either cash or cheque (payable to Thomas Estley Community College).
There is a charge of £20.00 . Without payment and a negative lateral flow test result you will not be able to spend the day in school. The charge that is made is passed back to the department hosting you for the day. If you are successful and accept a place on the School Direct Teacher Training programme with Achieve with TELA this cost can be refunded.

All parking for the School Experience day at Thomas Estley is in the White Horse pub car park which is just a little further along Station Road on the opposite side to the College. Please turn right when turning into the White Horse car park and park on that side. You will need to display a parking permit in your vehicle which will be allocated when you school experience day is confirmed.
