Skegness Grammar School

Skegness Grammar School is a selective coastal community secondary grammar school. We serve all our hard-working scholars equally and in doing so we aim to actively address issues of disadvantage and support students to achieve high academic success.
Our students achieve high academic success and as a school we take great pride in producing well-rounded, cultured individuals with a high level of social skills. The ethos of our school is based on the celebration of excellence in a caring, supportive environment which encourages pupils to achieve beyond their expectations and places strong emphasis on self-discipline, good manners and courtesy.
Our school motto translates to a sound conscience is a wall of brass- doing the right thing makes us stronger and we aim to promote this through our school values of knowledge, fairness and practice.
Skegness Grammar school offers a broad curriculum but we do not forget the whole child. We have a comprehensive enrichment program along with a successful house system allowing students to be involved in the school community.

About our school experience

Details
We offer the opportunity to observe lessons across a range of subjects and key stages with both practical and theory lessons. This allows candidates to experience a range of teaching styles in different contexts. There will be opportunity to interact with students in lessons and during social times to allow for questions to be asked. The teacher training coordinator would also be available to answer any questions regarding the teacher training process. The outline of a full day would involve observing the tutor program, a school tour and then the opportunity to visit and observe lessons from across the school. During social times, candidates can speak with staff members and/or students to gain an insight into the school. In the afternoon session, there could be opportunity to meet with the teacher training coordinator or carry out further observations of lessons.

8:40 to 3:10 - Flexible

8:40-3:10 is the full school day, there is the option to attend mornings or afternoons if more suitable.
