Tudor Grange Primary Academy, St James

Tudor Grange Primary Academy St James aims to provide a happy and safe environment, where all children are given the opportunity to flourish and make a valuable contribution to the academy and the wider community.

At St James we value the individuality of all of our children. As part of Tudor Grange Academies Trust, all staff are able to take advantage of wide-ranging, expert professional development opportunities throughout their career. It is a priority of the Trust to train and develop the next generation of teachers; Tudor Grange Primary Academy St James has a team of highly effective supporting staff and mentors who are able to offer placements for trainees from the SCITT programme.

In person school experience events:

Best suited for attendees who are sure they want to teach, but would like to get some in classroom experience as well as meet providers before considering an application. These events will run for a full school day and will include:
- Observations of great teaching.
- Introduction to the Tudor Grange SCITT programme.
- A taster professional studies session

Virtual events:

14:00 - 16:00 - "Taste of Teaching" aimed at attendees who are curious about teaching and want more information about what a career in teaching may look like for them. These remote sessions will also feature short sessions with teachers considering:
- career development
- a day in the life of a teacher
- what makes a great teacher

16:30 - 17:30 Open Evening:
Exploring the details of Tudor Grange's SCITT programme and discussing the practicalities of beginning an Initial Teacher Training year and what possible next steps may be. These events are best suited to attendees that are quite sure that they want to be teachers and need further information to enable them to choose the right provider
