Your School Experience at SJP will enable you to see what the role of a teacher really involves. You will observe your subject and any other subject that you are interested in being taught to a range of year groups and abilities. You will take part in Form Time, when Personal Development is taught. You can observe our Student Support department, to see how teachers and other key members of staff support our most vulnerable students. You will meet with members of our Year Teams, to see how pastoral support is a key part of a child’s progress in school. You will be able to speak to Associate Teachers who are undertaking their training this year.
You will get a flavour of what life as a teacher in a large, successful comprehensive school is like and you will leave realising why this profession is so rewarding. We will be in touch with your before you begin to see if you have any particular requests which we will then use to tailor your timetable so that your time here is truly beneficial. You might even get to eat some delicious school dinners! - Start and finish times
