About our school experience

Details

A school experience day with ATTI offers a warm, structured and insightful introduction to life as a trainee teacher. You’ll arrive for 9am and be welcomed with breakfast and refreshments. You will receive a short introduction from the Institute team where you'll explore the benefits of training to teach with ATTI, gaining a clear sense of the support, development and opportunities available.

A guided tour of the school will give you the chance to see the environment, meet staff and observe a school culture in action. You'll have the opportunity to meet key people who can speak directly about the trainee experience first hand, including meeting some of our current trainees who will share what their day-to-day life in school is really like.

You’ll then spend time in lessons, observing expert teaching and getting a feel for what it's like to be in a Secondary classroom.

The day ends with an opportunity for you to ask questions in our Q&A session. We will provide further guidance to support you in your next stages of your application journey.

Teacher training

Our Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme, delivered in partnership with Ambition Institute, is designed to equip you with the practical classroom skills and definitive knowledge you need to take off in your teaching career.

ITT is an 11-month, full-time course. Unlike university PGCE courses, our school-based programme allows you to train in school five days a week, helping you to gain confidence in the classroom as you hone your teaching skills. At the end of the course, you’ll gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE accredited by Liverpool Hope University.

We are proud that 100% of our trainees graduated with QTS and a PGCE and many went on to gain employment within our family of academies.
