Oakley Vale Primary School
Oakley Vale Primary School is a state-of-the-art eco-friendly school serving its local community, which was opened in 2008. We work together as a community to provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment where children are motivated to learn, are valued as individuals and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Our vision is to provide an outstanding educational experience for every child. We believe that all children are individuals and every single child has their own strengths that we help them to develop. All of our children are valued within the school and all of their efforts are celebrated.
Oakley Vale Primary School is a valued member of the Brooke Weston Trust. We are family of schools, each with its own unique character; we all share a culture of high expectations and ambition for all.
Our schools all regularly collaborate with each other to drive towards this ambition. This means that staff and pupils from across BWT work together to support each other, share best practice and try new ideas. Over each academic year there are many opportunities for pupils from all our schools to meet, compete and celebrate success together.

We recognise how important it is for prospective teachers to gain some first hand insight into how a school runs.
Our days may include:
Talking to Hub staff about the teacher training scheme
Talking to existing trainees about their experiences
Asking teachers about their typical day
Observe teaching such as literacy and numeracy work
Observe form times and topic workYou will also get the chance to gain advice on how to complete a training application and gain valuable insight into some of the skills you can showcase in your personal statement.
No DBS is required because you will also be with a member of staff but you will be able to interact with students and watch how they engage in their learning.

Entry requirements
You must:
- Must not have been accepted onto another teacher training course
- Must have a degree
- Photo identification: For example a passport or driving licence
- Must be considering apply to our schools to start teacher training in September of the next academic year.

Placement availability
Times and dates of visits can be flexible. Please indicate preferences on application. Please note we will avoid busy school times such as SATs or assessment weeks, trips and activity days, and school holidays.
