New Haw Community Junior School

New Haw Community School, is a very successful, friendly school where staff have ambitious expectations for the children in their care and, consequently, children thrive and succeed.

As a school community we strive to improve provision for pupils. We are committed to ensuring every child achieves their potential so they are prepared academically, personally and socially for the next stage of their journey into adulthood.

We are also committed to training the next generation of teachers and have been heavily involved in teacher training for the past decade. Many of our current teachers and senior leaders did their initial teacher training with us.

We work very closely with South Farnham SCITT, where trainees can choose to apply for the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) only programme or the PGCE with QTS. This one year programme includes local weekly professional studies training and placements in local schools.

During your time with us you will have the opportunity to:
• observe outstanding teaching and learning
• shadow a teacher in the day-to-day school life
• find out more about school direct teacher training
• find out more about the wider roles and responsibilities of teachers
