Tintagel Primary School

Tintagel Primary is a vibrant, happy school where learning is brought to life through rich, memorable experiences and a strong sense of innovation. We seek out inspiration for ourselves and for our children, and we believe that creative thinking is a powerful catalyst for curiosity, wonder and personal challenge.

Our children bring learning alive with their voices, their unique personalities and a wealth of individual talent. Of course, our core purpose is to ensure that our children feel secure and confident so that they are able to strive for multiple excellences in small ways throughout every day. We want them to find delight in their learning, to be open-minded and we hope to be the catalyst which opens doors to all that the world has to offer.

Tintagel School is part of the Aspire Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust of 31 primary schools in Cornwall who have joined together in a unique and exciting partnership that will ensure better provision, richer resources and higher standards for our pupils.

About our school experience

• Details:

  Candidates will be able to gain a broad experience of a primary school setting. Time will be spent in class observing the teacher across a range of lessons and activities, with the opportunity to work with small groups of children.

  Candidates will be able to talk with staff and ask questions to determine if teaching is the right career for them.

  Candidates will be able to find out more about initial teacher training opportunities with Aspire Academy Trust.

• Start and finish times: 8.30am to 3.30pm - Flexible

  We will work with candidates to arrange mutually convenient times.

• Dress code:

  Cover up tattoos, Smart casual

• Teacher training:

  Aspire Academy Trust delivers School Direct initial teacher training in partnership with Cornwall SCITT as the accredited provider.

• Photo identification: Valid photo ID

• DBS check required:

  Yes. This will need to be completed before a placement is confirmed. We will guide you through the application process. For placements of at least 10 days, the cost will be covered by the school, for placements less than 10 days, the cost will be covered by the candidate.

Placement availability

We can offer school experience throughout the year, but may have some busier times when placements aren't available.

  The fee covers the cost of carrying out your DBS check if you are unable to commit to 10+ days.
