Cherry Orchard Primary Academy

Cherry Orchard is an outstanding two-form entry Primary Academy part of the Leigh Academies Trust. We opened in 2017 and are now at full capacity and are heavily oversubscribed each year for our new Year R intake. We are experienced in supporting students through their teacher training with our initial teacher training provider Kent and Medway Training (KMT). Almost half of our teaching team trained with KMT and have had successful ECT years with us. Not only are we passionate about shaping the futures of the young children we work with, we are also passionate about shaping the future of our trainee teachers.

We are an inclusive school with a Special Resource Provision (SRP) for children with Speech and Language needs. We have our very own onsite pre-school and work collaboratively with other academies within the Trust.

• Start and finish times: 8:30 to 3:30 - Flexible

  For school expeirence we offer a later start of 8:45 or can provide half days.

Entry requirements

You must:

• Must be applying to or have applied to our, or a partner school's, teacher training course
• Must not have been accepted onto another teacher training course
• Must have a degree
• Photo identification: Passport, driving licence

• DBS check required:

  Yes - when in school. A DBS check will be required, a free volunteer DBS can be arranged.

Placement availability

We are able to offer experience during Term time. We are flexible with dates and times.
