Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College

Welcome to Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College. We are a large, successful secondary school serving the Haltemprice area of the East Riding of Yorkshire. We have over 1500 students, including a Sixth Form of around 175.

As part of The Consortium Academy Trust, we are ambitious about the future - creating learning environments and excellence in teaching and learning that provide our children and young people with the best chance at a successful future.

Our mission statement is very simple, ‘We aim to enable every young person to fulfil their academic potential, providing the foundations for them to excel in all that they do and to leave prepared to achieve all their ambitions’. Working together we are focused on enabling our students to be the best that they can be. We are very pleased that the vast majority of our top performing GCSE students choose to continue their education in our Sixth Form College.

We are a large school which enables us to offer a broad and balanced curriculum and a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Our excellent sporting facilities are being well used by both students and many local community groups.

About our school experience

  This is an opportunity to experience a day in the life of a trainee teacher. You will meet current trainees, early career teachers, the Initial Teacher Training Lead, mentors, and members of the relevant faculty/departmental team.

  Activities will include: ; a tour of the school ; observing lessons and different styles of teaching ; seeing how specific subjects are taught ; engaging in learning conversations with colleagues ; learning more about our initial teacher training placements and our strategic partnership with the Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training SCITT.

• Start and finish times: 8.30am to 3.30pm - Flexible

  We are happy to accommodate full or half day visits. With notice, we can be flexible in relation to start and finish times.
