The day begins with a briefing to set you up ready for your time in the classroom. You will be directed to look for specific aspects of the lessons that will help you in your application for a PGCE training place.
There then follows 3-4 hours of observations in a range of classes.
At the end of the day we have a Q&A / debrief session to allow you to reflect on your experience during the day. In this session we also cover any questions you have about the different routes into teaching; the application process; qualifications needed and any general questions you have about teaching.
You are expected to bring photo ID and be dressed smartly. No DBS is required. The day usually begins at 9.15am and is finished by 3.30pm. We provide lunch. There is a small, non-returnable fee of £15. Anyone interested in teaching is welcome.
