The Swan School
The Swan School is a secondary school in Oxford. The school opened in September 2019 and was Oxford's first new secondary school in more than 50 years.
At The Swan School, our vision is to work with the local community and exceptional establishments in Oxford and around the world to build a truly outstanding school where every single child can achieve his or her potential.
We believe that students should leave The Swan School having achieved more than they ever believed possible, and with the qualifications, skills, and confidence to achieve even more in the future.
The Swan is a calm, purposeful environment in which to work and learn; we do not tolerate any behaviour that disrupts learning or makes any member of our community feel unsafe. Our curriculum is rigorously academic and knowledge-rich.
We have a number of unique features compared to other local schools including: family dining, silent transitions, a centrally-planned curriculum and an electives programme.

We work closely with Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire Teacher Training. This is an outstanding School-Centred Initial Teacher Training Programme that is part of our academy trust (River Learning Trust) and has close links with many other schools in the local area. We may be able to facilitate placements at The Swan School for trainees on this programme. We would highly recommend this as a route into teaching and will be able to answer questions about the programme during the day.
