Cavendish Primary School puts pupils are at the heart of all that we do. We are a 2-form entry school for children aged 4 to 11, located to the east of the city of Hull.

About our school experience

Details

Applicants will be able to observe lessons and see different teaching styles including Phonics, Reading, Maths and the foundation subjects,
They will also be able to observe the Horizon Maths lead.
They will be able to speak with a current trainee and also mentors.
They will have opportunities for interacting with pupils both in the classroom and on the playground.
They will see how specific subjects are taught and have access to planning.
They will meet with the Horizon Lead for Teacher training learning more about the teacher training process and the support that is offered.
They will have the opportunity to ask any of their questions.

Start and finish times
9:00 to 3:15 - Flexible

We are able to accommodate candidates at 9:00, 10:30 or 1:00 and they are able to leave at lunchtime or the end of the school day.

Teacher training

We are a school direct route and work with Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training, who are the only outstanding provider in our area.
We have schools across the city and in rural and coastal areas to support trainees during their time in school. The PGCE part of the course is through Sheffield Hallam, which is undertaken at the Yorkshire Wolds Centre in Melton, Hull one day a week. 4 days are spent in a school locally.
