Uphill Village Academy

The Cabot Learning Federation is a family of 35 schools in Bristol, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Somerset. We are a mature multi-academy trust (MAT) serving communities in the South West, and a leading partner in the Five Counties Teaching School Alliance.

Uphill Village Academy is a school committed to ‘Learning without Limits’ which means we believe every child is unique, intelligent and extraordinary and capable of more than they believe is possible.

Our excellent team provide a safe and caring environment where children develop the knowledge and skills they need to lead a flourishing life. We have strong sense of community within our school and the children are taught to work together to make our school, local community and world a better place.

About our school experience

Details

During the experience, you will have the chance to observe teaching and learning in action and get under the surface of what life in schools is really like.

As well as observing lessons you will have a chance to meet with a range of people who have been involved in the SCITT programme, for example current SCITT trainees, alumni trainees who are now teachers in the school, lead mentors and members of the school staff.

Information will be provided around the application and interview process.

There will be a break during the session with tea, coffee and water available.

Start and finish times
9:00am to 3:30pm - Flexible

The school experience would usually be a half day, am or pm, with start and finish times to be confirmed on arrangement.

Teacher training

We work in partnership with the Five Counties SCITT, graded Outstanding by Ofsted in March 2024. The Five Counties SCITT offers full time primary and secondary programmes leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the opportunity to gain Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). There are enhancement courses available including primary with maths, music or SEND and primary with early years (age 3-7)
