Lyndhurst Primary School
We are delighted that you have chosen to visit Lyndhurst Primary School for your school experience day. We believe that all Lyndhurst pupils should have a lifelong passion for learning. They should be taught the skills they need to identify and overcome any individual barriers to their acquisition of knowledge. This will be achieved through a holistic, evidence informed pedagogy that holds inclusivity at its heart, where teachers model that they are also learners and are compassionate whilst having high standards. Our curriculum is rooted in our local area and allows learners to apply our core values. This will develop staff who are creative and engaged and pupils who are proactive, informed and who are confident in celebrating individuality.

London South Teaching School Hub is a lead partner with Roehampton University offering initial teacher training across our highly successful schools in South London.
This postgraduate qualification gives you the tools to build a successful career in teaching while providing a holistic view of the profession; you will look at the child, curriculum and teacher.
The course will build your confidence in the classroom, your understanding of the wider role a teacher plays and provide you with all the subject knowledge to effectively teach the full curriculum to all age groups of primary school children. You will be based in a host school for 32 weeks of the year, which will enable you to develop strong relationships with your school mentor who will oversee your training. You will attend lectures and seminars at Roehampton University throughout the year.
You will be assigned a tutor from Roehampton who will support you with both the practical and academic elements of the course. You will also be part of a large cohort of trainee teachers in South London. We get to know each trainee and offer excellent pastoral support throughout your journey to becoming a teacher. Our diverse cohort of present and past trainees are always on hand for peer support and advice.
Our team are on-hand to support you through the application and interview process. If successful, we carefully select a host school that you will grow and thrive in as you train. We strongly recommend coming along to one of our online information events to meet us in person and to ask any further questions you might have.
