Streatham Wells Primary
Thank you for choosing Streatham Wells Primary School for your school experience day. We are a small but mighty, single-form entry school in the London Borough of Lambeth, part of The Charter Schools Educational Trust. We are a friendly and caring school, where everyone is committed to providing the very best learning opportunities for our children, both inside and outside the classroom. Children are happy and proud to come to school everyday, and we welcome visits from prospective families. Here we believe in growing hearts and minds. Our school is open plan, with our wonderful library sitting in the heart of the school. This is because reading, and more importantly, a love for reading sits at the heart of everything we do. We are situated amongst beautiful gardens, which inspire our learning and relax our minds. A village school in the heart of the city.

London South Teaching School Hub is a lead partner with Roehampton University offering initial teacher training across our highly successful schools in South London.
This postgraduate qualification gives you the tools to build a successful career in teaching while providing a holistic view of the profession; you will look at the child, curriculum and teacher.
The course will build your confidence in the classroom, your understanding of the wider role a teacher plays and provide you with all the subject knowledge to effectively teach the full curriculum to all age groups of primary school children. You will be based in a host school for 32 weeks of the year, which will enable you to develop strong relationships with your school mentor who will oversee your training. You will attend lectures and seminars at Roehampton University throughout the year.
You will be assigned a tutor from Roehampton who will support you with both the practical and academic elements of the course. You will also be part of a large cohort of trainee teachers in South London. We get to know each trainee and offer excellent pastoral support throughout your journey to becoming a teacher. Our diverse cohort of present and past trainees are always on hand for peer support and advice.
Our team are on-hand to support you through the application and interview process. If successful, we carefully select a host school that you will grow and thrive in as you train. We strongly recommend coming along to one of our online information events to meet us in person and to ask any further questions you might have.
