School profile

Brownhills Ormiston Academy

Brownhills Ormiston Academy is a smaller than average secondary school at the heart of its community. We are ambitious for every student and find that being a smaller academy allows us to give the care, guidance and support that enables every student to succeed.

We provide a broad, challenging and knowledge-rich curriculum which develops mastery of content and skills through careful sequencing. New and increasingly more challenging content is delivered progressively and reflects both the needs of the local and wider community. The high expectations and aspirations for achievement and behaviour have a clear focus on ensuring the future pathway and preparation for success in careers and life.

Our Trust:
Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest not-for-profit multi-academy trusts in England. Our aim as a charity, alongside our schools, is to provide local children with a great education. We educate over 35,000 pupils across five OAT regions, in over 40 schools – currently 32 secondary schools, six primary schools, three alternative provision schools and one special school. We are one of the longest-established trusts and have sponsored academies since 2009. Our sole purpose is to provide OAT pupils with excellent learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom.

About our school experience

Details
A school experience at Brownhills Ormiston Academy will provide the opportunity to spend a day working alongside school staff. You will be able to observe lessons and interact with pupils throughout the day. You will work with more than one teacher so you will benefit from seeing different teaching approaches. You can see how specific subjects are taught and consider how the curriculum is designed and implemented. You can have a working lunch with teaching staff to find out more about life working in a secondary school. You can also meet with a senior member of staff to learn more about the school, teaching, and teacher training processes available through our academy.
